Dr. Selma Nagan, Verney College’s long-serving leader and dedicated teacher, brings over five decades of teaching expertise to her Afrikaans FAL classes. A former principal with an impressive list of qualifications, she continues to inspire excellence and commitment in her learners and colleagues.
Dr. Selma Nagan joined Verney College in January 2001 as Deputy Principal and went on to serve as Principal until December 2019. With 52 years of teaching experience — 47 of them full time — she remains a pillar of dedication at Verney. Her impressive academic achievements include a Teaching Diploma, a Leadership and Management Diploma, BA, BEd, MEd, and PhD. She currently teaches Afrikaans First Additional Language to Grades 10 and 12, where her wealth of knowledge, passion for education, and unwavering commitment continue to inspire generations of learners.
