Mrs Basson was appointed as the principal in April 2023. With a strong background in educational leadership and a passion for student development, Mrs Basson brings a wealth of experience and fresh energy to our school community. She has served in various roles as an educator and administrator over the past 30 years.
I am currently the Deputy Principal and Accounting teacher at Verney. I have been at Verney since January 2015. With a background in Financial Management and Industrial Psychology (BCom), along with a postgraduate qualification in Higher Education, I am passionate about fostering academic excellence.

Dr. Selma Nagan, Verney College’s long-serving leader and dedicated teacher, brings over five decades of teaching expertise to her Afrikaans FAL classes. A former principal with an impressive list of qualifications, she continues to inspire excellence and commitment in her learners and colleagues.
Mr. Andrew Tawanda Munongi has been teaching at our school since 2012. He teaches Mathematics to Grades 8–12 and Mathematical Literacy to Grades 10–12. With over 30 years of experience and strong expertise in multiple syllabi, Andrew combines deep knowledge with a passion for coaching and sports officiating.
Meet Mr. Caston Zimunhu, an experienced IT and Computer Science educator at our school since May 2015. With a strong academic background, including a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and SAP TERP 10 certification, Mr. Zimunhu inspires learners from Grade 7 to Grade 12
I am Dumisani Basopo a holder of a Bachelor's Degree in English, and I also hold a Diploma in Education. My passion for education started at a young age, and I believe in changing the world through ideas in education.
Nathaniel Maphosa is a dedicated Mathematics and Physical Sciences educator at FET level. With a strong background in education and a passion for problem-solving and innovation, he empowers learners to think critically, explore their world, and apply modern technology to real-life challenges.
Since 2004, Miss Jenny has been a dedicated educator at Verney College, teaching History (Grades 10–12), English and Creative Arts (Grades 8–9), and supporting learners with extra classes and assessments. Passionate about literacy and student growth, she also led public speaking teams and organize library fundraising initiatives.
Raché van Zyl has been teaching at our school since May 2017. With qualifications in Afrikaans and education, she currently teaches Afrikaans to Grades 6–9 and 11, and supports Grade 12. She also teaches Natural Sciences and is involved in athletics and netball.
Sipiwe Dlamini joined Verney College in August 2024 as a passionate Geography and Social Sciences teacher. With over 10 years of experience, she inspires learners to connect with the world around them while fostering critical thinking, civic awareness, and environmental responsibility.
Nokuthula Ngwenya, an experienced and dynamic teacher at Verney College since 2022, brings her passion for entrepreneurship and finance into her Economics and Business Studies classes. With 23 years’ teaching expertise, she inspires learners through academics, competitions, and sports.
My name is Jacqueline Mendes, and I am the Head of Department for the Primary School at Verney College, where I have been proudly teaching since 2006. With over 25 years of experience in education, I currently teach Grade 1 and 2 learners, specializing in the foundation phase.
Mr. Proude "Mondli" Dlamini is a passionate and experienced educator at Verney College, teaching Mathematics to Grades 4–7 and Natural Science to Grades 4 and 5. With over 20 years of experience and a strong belief in nurturing each child’s potential, he is committed to inspiring and guiding learners toward excellence.
With over 25 years of experience in education, I bring both passion and purpose to the classroom every day. I earned my teaching degree in 2000 and have since had the privilege of teaching both locally and abroad, gaining valuable insights from diverse learners around the world.
Meet Mrs. Zinhle Peaceful Zwane, our passionate and dedicated isiZulu teacher. With a warm heart and a deep love for language and culture, she brings energy and excellence to every lesson. Her approach inspires learners to embrace isiZulu with confidence and pride.
Vetika Singh has been an educator at Verney College since April 2022. She teaches Social Studies to Grades 4, 5, and 6, as well as Art to Grade 7. Vetika holds a Bachelor of Education degree and is fully certified in inclusive education, bringing a supportive and creative approach to her teaching.
Penelope Fahy, a dedicated educator and administrator at Verney College since 2009, brings her rich background in accounting and her passion for teaching to the classroom. She teaches English HL and Afrikaans FAL to Grades 4–7, inspiring young learners with care and enthusiasm.
Miss Noelia, Verney College’s long-serving and exceptional accountant, has been a cornerstone of the school for many years. Known for her dedication, professionalism, and unwavering support, she ensures the smooth running of the school’s finances and is valued by all who work with her.
A true pillar of Verney College, our beloved school secretary, Miss Rossana, has served the school for over 40 years with unwavering dedication. A former teacher and lifelong nurturer, she is the heart of our halls—offering comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love to generations of learners.
Our school secretary is the heart of Verney College. With warmth, efficiency, and deep care for every child, she ensures the school runs smoothly each day. Her friendly smile, helping hand, and love for our learners make her an irreplaceable part of our school family.
Shaun started at Verney College in 2010 and is in a maintenance position which later changed to a security position.
Thabo has been part of the Verney Family since 2012. He is the friendly face that you will find at the gate as our security guard.
John has been with Verney since 2013. John maintains our gardens and is responsible for the general maintenance of the school.

Rejoice has been with Verney since 2013. Rejoice is responsible for housekeeping.
Shepard joined the Verney family in 2015. He comes with years of experience in maintenance and has done so at our school.
Mr Easter started at Verney at 2005. He began as security and is now our driver.
Noma has been a part of the Verney family since 2004. Noma is responsible for housekeeping and is a friendly face at the tuckshop.
Patricia started at Verney College in 1986. That is an incredible 39 years. Patricia is responsible for housekeeping.
