Mrs Basson was appointed as the principal in April 2023. With a strong background in educational leadership and a passion for student development, Mrs Basson brings a wealth of experience and fresh energy to our school community. She has served in various roles as an educator and administrator over the past 30 years.
Mrs Basson is an experienced teacher and sports coach. She completed an 89-hour course in HOPE Mathematics and obtained a Diploma in Environmental Education through the Delta Environmental Centre. She successfully coached a Junior Triathlon and Duathlon team, where several athletes were selected for Nationals. Both teams came third at the Ekurhuleni Sports Awards, competing against mostly senior sport teams for this award. She is also a certified swimming and middle-distance coach. She has also completed 9 Comrades marathons, took part in an Ironman Triathlon, and is a qualified Skipper and Scuba Diver. She sailed across the Atlantic on a 2-man yacht in in 2017/2018 to Brazil and Trinidad/Tobago.
